Quality standardization work is an important technical foundation for the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the petroleum and chemical industry. Facing new situations, new challenges and new opportunities, in order to further exert the role of quality standardization in leading and supporting the high-quality development of the industry, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation organized and held the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Quality Standardization Conference and commended 30 outstanding standardization projects in the petroleum and chemical industry. Among them, "GB/T 41657-2022 Determination of Puncture Resistance of Adhesive Tapes" drafted by Meixin New Materials Co., Ltd. received this honor.
"GB/T 41657-2022 Determination of Puncture Resistance of Adhesive Tapes" was released on July 11, 2022 and implemented on February 1, 2023. This standard uniformly regulates the determination method of the puncture resistance of adhesive tapes and belongs to the method standard of pressure-sensitive adhesive products (including adhesive tapes) in the adhesive standard system framework. The implementation of this standard further improves the adhesive standard system, and at the same time fills the gap in the evaluation method of the puncture resistance of adhesive tapes at home and abroad. It is conducive to ensuring the technical quality and safety of adhesive tapes, promoting the quality improvement and upgrading of materials, effectively guaranteeing the promotion and application of new materials, promoting the effective connection between technological innovation and technical standards, leading the high-quality development of the industry, and meeting the strategic needs of the country. This standard has been reviewed by the expert group of the Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Products Branch of the National Adhesive Standardization Technical Committee and was evaluated as reaching the international advanced level.
The innovation of this standard is reflected in the following aspects:
(1)The test method has high accuracy, and the puncture resistance of adhesive tape can be precisely measured by the specially designed fixture and the constant speed tensile testing machine commonly used in adhesive tape industry.
(2)Different from the existing standards, the test method is only applicable to certain materials without adhesives (such as textiles), and the method can be used to determine the puncture resistance of adhesive tapes made of different substrates.
(3)The method is used as a constant speed tensile testing machine with pressing function, equipped with a sample holding device and a piercing device. The equipment and fixture used are simple in structure, low in investment cost, convenient in use, and can be well popularized and applied in adhesive tape manufacturers.
With the expansion of the application field of adhesive tape, this standard has been or will be widely used in the main industry chain such as new energy batteries for occasions with puncture resistance requirements, such as lithium-ion battery shell protection with insulation flame-retardant adhesive tape; Adhesive tape for plugging holes in cars; Adhesive tape for sealing and packaging; Electrical (such as insulation adhesive tape, coil wrapping, fixing, binding, transformer bandaging) adhesive tape; Used for cylindrical and square, small and medium-sized lithium electronic batteries and large power lithium electronic battery cells such as the pole position and winding position of the termination insulation fixed, to terminate and puncture the role of the core termination adhesive tape.
In addition, with the continuous integration of the manufacturing supply chain on a global scale, a large number of anti-piercing performance requirements of adhesive tape materials need to be exported to foreign countries, such as China's power battery manufacturers need to export power battery adhesive to the Belt and Road countries and European and American markets. In the future, Meixin New Materials Co., Ltd. will start the translation project of the foreign version of the standard, as well as the proposal of international standards.
